Use a proxy or sensor with host automations

Communication settings for ACME agents get selected during the install and activation process:

  • Select My own proxy server if the agent will connect to the CertCentral cloud via a third-party proxy server.

  • Select DigiCert sensor as proxy if the agent will connect to the CertCentral cloud via a DigiCert sensor used as a proxy. Using a DigiCert sensor as proxy provides additional fault tolerance options for ACME agent-based automations.

After making one of these selections, configure the specific settings for it as described below.

My own proxy server

The following settings are used to specify an existing third-party proxy server to use with the ACME automation agent:

  • Proxy Host: Enter the proxy server's IP address or hostname.

  • Proxy Port: Enter the applicable port number on the proxy server.

  • My proxy server requires sign-in: Select if the proxy server requires user account credentials, then enter the Username and Password.

DigiCert sensor as proxy

The following settings are used to specify an existing DigiCert sensor to use as a proxy with the ACME automation agent:

  • IP address: The sensor's IP address.

  • Communications port: The port number to use when communicating with the sensor, as follows:

    • Port 8080 for sensor version 3.8.46 and older.

    • Port 48999 for sensor version 3.8.47 and newer.

Notice

The sensor configured here should already be installed and active. For details about how to set up a new sensor, see Set up sensor-based automation for network appliances.
