Validate domains on an organization-validated (OV) and extended validation (EV) TLS certificate order
Validate each domain included in an OV or EV TLS certificate order before DigiCert issues the certificate. Domain validation must be complete for all domains on the order before the certificate can be issued.
When you order an OV or EV TLS certificate, you must select a DCV method to validate the domains on the certificate. CertCentral takes you to the certificate's pending Order details page where you complete domain validation. You can switch validation methods from the Order details page at any time if needed.
You can use one DCV method to validate all domains on a certificate or use a different method for each domain as needed. For example, if your certificate includes three domains and an IP address, you can use DNS TXT record to validate the domains but must use HTTP Practical Demonstration to validate the IP address.
Notice
For faster certificate issuance, prevalidate domains before adding them to OV or EV TLS certificate orders. If a domain is already validated and within the reuse period, DigiCert does not require additional validation and the certificate request proceeds automatically. See Add and validate a domain using DNS TXT record or Add and validate a domain using HTTP Practical Demonstration.
During the certificate request process:
Select a DCV method for each domain
Submit the certificate request
Complete validation from the Order details page
