Attribute certificate template

An attribute certificate template (RFC-5755) defines the configuration and requirements used when issuing attribute certificates.

Unlike identity certificates, attribute certificates do not bind a public key to a subject. Instead, they associate authorization, entitlement, or role-based attributes with the holder of an existing certificate.

Use the template structure described in this topic to configure certificate versioning, signature algorithms, holder identification, attributes, custom extensions, validity constraints, serial number settings, and certificate size validation rules.
