Users and access
DigiCert® account uses role-based access control (RBAC) to determine what users can access and do in solutions.
Platform administrators can assign preset user roles or create custom user roles for more specific access needs. Roles can be assigned directly to users or identity provider (IdP) groups when system for cross-domain identity management (SCIM) is enabled and their IdP groups have been imported to DigiCert.
A user role defines what a user can access and do within a DigiCert solution. Different solutions have their own roles, so a user may have different levels of access across DigiCert solutions.
Permissions are used when custom user roles are created or changed. Administrators select the permissions that belong to a custom role, and then assign that role to users or groups. Permissions aren’t assigned directly to users.
