Cancel pending client certificate orders
When a client certificate order is still in a pending state, you can cancel the order. Client certificate orders have two pending statuses: Pending and Emailed to Recipient.
Pending status is associated with client certificate orders that include a CSR. Typically, these types of certificate orders are pending until the email recipient validates their email address.
Emailed to Recipient status is associated with client certificate orders that don't include a CSR. Typically, these types of certificate orders are pending until the email recipient uses the link sent in an email to generate and install their client certificate in a supported browser.
Before you begin
Warning
Canceling an order cannot be undone. Canceling a request will remove it from the system.
You can only cancel client certificate orders in Pending and Emailed to Recipient states.
Once the certificate is issued, you'll need to revoke the certificate.
If you added the approval step to your client certificate issuance process, the approver must reject the certificate request. When you include an approval step, a certificate order is not placed until the approver OKs the order.
Cancel a pending order
In your CertCentral account, in the sidebar menu, go to Certificates > Orders.
On the Orders page, select the pending client certificate's order number link.
On the Order # details page, in the Certificate Actions dropdown, select Cancel Order.
In the Cancel Order window, select Cancel Order.
Note
The canceled order is logged in the Audit Logs (go to Account > Audit Logs).
