Quick start guide
The first time you open DigiCert Posture Management, a setup wizard walks you through 4 stages: Policies, Structure, Configure, and Summary. The wizard sets your account policies and, optionally, adds your first domain or creates your first portfolio.
Note
You can change policies and add domains and portfolios after setup.
Sign in to your DigiCert ONE account.
Navigate to Posture Management.
On the Welcome to Posture Management page, select Get started.
On the Policies stage, review the policies to apply to your account. All 14 policies are enabled by default:
Under Category, select a category to view its policies.
Clear the checkbox next to any policy your organization isn't ready to enforce.
Select Next.
On the Structure stage, select how to organize your account: Start with a domain or Create a portfolio. Start with a domain adds 1 domain that uses your account policies. Create a portfolio groups critical assets under shared policies and a shared scan schedule.
Select Next. To finish setup without adding a domain or portfolio, select Skip to summary instead.
If you selected Start with a domain, on the Configure stage:
In Domain, enter the domain name (for example, example.com).
Under Scan schedule, select Schedule scan or Run scan on DNS change.
If you selected Schedule scan, from Run scan, select how often to scan the domain (for example, Daily).
Select Save and continue.
If you selected Create a portfolio, on the Configure stage:
In Portfolio name, enter a name for the portfolio.
(Optional) In Description, enter a description.
Under Select policies, clear the checkbox next to any policy you don't want to apply to this portfolio. All policies are selected by default.
Under Scan mode, select Event-backed (recommended), Scheduled, or Event-only.
Select Save and continue.
On the Summary stage, review your setup.
The Summary stage confirms that your account policies are saved. If you added a domain, DigiCert Posture Management requests an initial scan. Findings and posture results appear when the evaluation completes. See View domain details.
Notice
A portfolio created during setup contains no domains. Add domains to the portfolio before DigiCert® Posture Management can evaluate them. See View portfolios.
Notice
Some policies require a DNS provider integration to run. Without a connected integration, those policies use external scan coverage only. See Scan coverage by integration for the full breakdown.
