Diagnostics
Use this feature to simplify troubleshooting and issue diagnosis. Diagnostics automatically collects all relevant configuration details, user information, and log files into a password-protected ZIP file that includes:
Diagnostics.json: Detailed information about the machine, operating system, RequestBuffer database, Active Directory, and registry.
DCOM permission information: Comprehensive list of DCOM permissions, including AppID-specific and machine-wide settings.
Group Policy information: Information about the configured Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
User information: Information of the logged-in user such as groups, claims, and privileges.
AEServer.log: A set of log files capturing AEServer activity for the past seven days.
AEConfig.log: Comprehensive log related to AEConfig.
ConfigureAES.log: The log file generated during the latest execution of the
ConfigureAES.batfile.
Before saving the Diagnostics report:
Ensure that the properties of the log file are configured. You can skip this section if there is no need to change the logging configuration. Fro more details, see Log properties configuration options.
Configure the log level for detailed diagnostics
If the log level is set to Basic - Info level and you need more detailed diagnostic information, change the log level to DEBUG:
From the Windows Start menu, open the Autoenrollment Server Configuration Tool.
If the Service state is Running, select Stop Service. The
logger.propertiesfile opens in your default text editor.In the
logger.propertiesfile, change the log level from INFO to DEBUG.Save the file.
Select Start Service.
Your application will generate detailed debug-level logs to help with troubleshooting.
Archive the diagnostics report
To archive the diagnostics report, perform the following steps:
Select Diagnostics and then select OK to proceed with diagnostics.
Enter password and Re-enter to generate the encrypted archive (minimum 8 characters).
Optionally, select Browse… to edit the filename and the location of the archive to be saved.
Select OK to start generating the diagnostics archive.
Warning
To open Diagnostics archive file on Windows, you will need an application that supports AES256 encryption because the native File Explorer does not support this encryption method. A specialized archiving application is required.
