Configure Autoenrollment Server for high availability

Autoenrollment Server and DCOM protocol can support high availability by default. To configure multiple instances of Autoenrollment Server for high availability, you only need to configure the same API key across all instances of Autoenrollment Server.

To configure multiple instances of Autoenrollment Server for high availability,

  1. Obtain an API token to be used across your Autoenrollment Server instances. See Obtain the API token.

  2. Copy the API token ID to all Autoenrollment Server machines.

  3. Stop the Autoenrollment Server if it is running. See Start and stop Autoenrollment Server.

  4. Select OK to close the Autoenrollment Configuration utility if it is open.

  5. On each of Autoenrollment Server machines, modify the registry value for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/DigiCert/Autoenrollment/ServiceCN-Postfix. The value of this entry is appended to the Name of the Enrollment Service(Service-CN). Set a different string value for each instance. The main instance should have an empty string value.

  6. From the Start menu, go to DigiCert, then right-click Autoenrollment Configuration and select Run as administrator.

  7. Download Autoenrollment Server configuration file and import it using the Autoenrollment Configuration utility on each of the Autoenrollment Server machines. See Import the autoenrollment configuration file.

  8. Start the Autoenrollment Server. See Start and stop Autoenrollment Server.
