Create certificate profiles for REST API
To create a certificate profile in DigiCert® Trust Lifecycle Manager that issues certificates for REST API requests from Postman:
From the Trust Lifecycle Manager menu, go to Policies > Certificate profiles.
Select a base template to create the profile from.
Work through the profile configuration as described in the following steps. Configure the API-specific options described here, and any other options to suit your unique business needs.
Under Primary options:
Select the
REST API
enrollment method.Select the
3rd Party app
authentication method.
Set the rest of the primary certificate options as desired and select Next.
For all Certificate fields, select either REST Request or Fixed Value as the source of the field’s value.
At the REST API User Binding step, select the service user you previously created.
Note
If you do not select a user, then any API KEY can be used to authenticate against this profile. As a best practice, DigiCert strongly recommends you bind the profile to a specific user with appropriate user roles.
On the final screen of the profile wizard, select Create to save the new certificate profile.
Once you have a profile that issues certificates for REST API requests from Postman, configure Postman for API key authentication.
