Create a service user
In DigiCert ONE, in the Manager menu (top right), select Account.
In the Account Manager menu, select Access > Service User.
On the Service users page, select Create service user.
On the Service user details page, add the details as needed.
Friendly name
This name is the display name on the Service users page. The name must be unique and only include letters, numbers, spaces, dashes, and underscores.
Actions linked to the service user are logged under the service user's friendly name.
Description (optional)
This information appears on the Service user: {{friendly name}} page, under Service user details.
End date (optional)
Adding an end date is not required. The end date is in UTC. For example, if you select 12 August 2023 as your end date, your service user expires on 12 August 2023 at 23:59:59 UTC.
If you add an end date, make sure to note when the service user expires. You must update all API integrations using its token ID before the service user expires. If you don't, the service user integrations will stop working.
Remember, you can always edit the service user details and extend the expiration date as needed.
Email
Add the email address for the person you want to manage the service user credentials.
If the email recipient is not you, make sure to contact the email recipient. Provide them with the information they need to manage the service user's credentials. DigiCert ONE does not send any type of email to the email address.
Accounts that can use this service user
In the dropdown, select the accounts that can use this service user for their API integrations.
When ready, select Next.
On the Create service user – Permissions page, select the permissions for each DigiCert ONE Manager you want the service user to have.
Only select the permissions needed to complete the task/integration. You can always come back and update the service user permissions, if necessary. See Service user permissions.
When you are ready, select Create service user.
In the Service user token ID window, copy the ID and save it in a secure location to use later.
The token ID is only displayed only once. You cannot access it after you select Close. If you ever lose the token ID, you'll need to disable the lost token and create a new one.
After saving the token ID, select Close.
What's next
You are ready to use the service user to build your DigiCert ONE integrations. Your new service user appears on the Service users page. Return here to update the end date, modify the permissions, and disable or enable the service user (In the Account Manager menu, go to Access > Service User).
