Recertify a root or intermediate CA
Create a new root or intermediate CA to take over certificate issuance for an expiring CA. When you recertify a CA:
The original subject DN and other certificate details are inherited by the new CA.
The original public key is reused to generate the new CA.
The new CA takes over signing requests made to the original CA.
The original CA is disabled and cannot be used for issuing.
In DigiCert ONE, in the Manager menu (top right), select CA.
In the account menu (top right), select the account that hosts the CA you want to recertify.
In the CA Services menu, select Manage CAs, then select Roots or Intermediates.
Find and select the CA you want to recertify.
In the Details section, on the right, select the More actions menu (three dots) and Recertify CA.
Set the New validity period.
Select Create.
