Create registered values

Before you begin:

Make sure you understand the following DigiCert® Device Trust Manager concepts and components:

  • Divisions: Registered values can be configured so that all divisions can view or modify them, or only selected divisions.

  • Certificate profiles: Certificate profiles are used by registered values for allowed value validation. Registered values call enrollment profiles.

  • Allowed values dataset: A comma-separated list of allowed values used to validate certificate requests.

To create registered values:

  1. Sign in to DigiCert® ONE as a Solution Administrator.

  2. In DigiCert ONE, in the Manager menu (grid at top right), select Device Trust.

  3. In the Device Trust Manager menu, select Certificate management > Registered values.

  4. Click Create registered values.

  5. On the General settings tab:

    1. Specify a nickname for the registered values.

    2. Optionally, provide an appropriate Description.

    3. Under Divisions, select which divisions can view and manage the registered values.

      Note

By default, all divisions can view and manage registered values. If you want to limit access by division, select Only divisions assigned here can view and manage these registered values, and from the dropdown menu, select each division that should have access to the registered values.

    4. Select the required Certificate management policies from the Certificate management policies dropdown list.

  6. Click Next.

  7. On the Allowed conditions tab:

    1. Click Add dataset.

    2. Enter a Nickname.

    3. Optionally, provide an appropriate Description.

    4. Upload a .CSV dataset.

      What are datasets?

      What are datasets?

Allowed values use datasets, which are comma-separated value (CSV) files, to identify valid certificate requests. Each column in the CSV identifies a certificate value to validate against, with the first row identifying the certificate field, and subsequent rows identifying allowed values for their respective column.

    5. Click Create registered value container. Your registered values are created.
