Register Crypto4A partitions

The partitions from your Crypto4A hardware security module (HSM) are shown in DigiCert® Private CA when you add the HSM server.

To register your Crypto4A HSM partitions:

  1. In DigiCert Private CA, from the left main menu, select HSM, then select Crypto4A.

  2. Scroll down to Partitions, select the one you want to register, then select Register partition.

    If you don't see your existing partitions, refresh the browser.

  3. Enter partition details, like how it’s accessed and used.

    Details include:

    • Partition: Lists all the available partitions on your HSM. Select the one you want to register.

    • API key: The API key you created during the initial setup of your HSM. This isn’t an API key from your DigiCert ONE account.

    • Display name: The name shown for the partition at HSM > Registered partitions in DigiCert Private CA.

    • Allowed uses: Defines a purpose of the partition, like what type of keys are stored in it. You can select multiple uses.

    • Security level: Defines the security level of the partition so that the HSM applies the appropriate policies on it.

    • Accounts that can use this HSM partition: Limits partition availability to selected accounts. You can select multiple accounts.

  4. Select Register partition.

Your Crypto4A HSM partition is ready for use.
