Reset a client certificate or OTP app or device

Resetting the second factor for two-factor authentication

If someone loses their client certificate or their OTP app or device, you can reset their certificate, OTP app, or device in your CertCentral account.

Administrators: If you lose your client certificate, OTP app, or device, and don't have another administrator who can reset it for you, contact us immediately so we can reset it.

Reset client certificate, OTP app, or device

  1. In your CertCentral account, in the left main menu, go to Settings > Authentication Settings.

  1. On the Authentication Settings page, in the Two-Factor Authentication section, reset certificates and devices as needed:

    • Client certificate
      Under Issued Client Certificates, locate the user's certificate and click Reset.
    • OTP app or device
      Under One-Time Password (OTP) Devices, locate the user's device and click Reset.

What's next

The next time the user signs in to CertCentral, they must generate a new client certificate or initialize their OTP app or device.
