Create an enrollment passcode

  1. In DigiCert ONE®, in the Manager menu (top right), select DigiCert​​®​​ IoT Trust Manager.

  2. In the DigiCert​​®​​ IoT Trust Manager menu, select Enrollment configurations > Enrollment passcodes.

  3. On the Enrollment passcodes page, select Create passcode.

  4. On the Create passcode page, do the following tasks:

    1. Enter the passcode name

      This name is how you identify the passcode on the Enrollment passcodes page.

    2. Select an enrollment profile

      In the Enrollment profile dropdown, select the enrollment profile.

    3. Add a description (optional)

      In the Description (optional) field, enter a passcode description. For example, the manufacturer that will use the passcode. This description appears when you view the passcode details.

  5. Under How will DigiCert​​®​​ IoT Trust Manager get the passcode, complete one of the following options:

    1. Generate it

      DigiCert​​®​​ IoT Trust Manager generates the passcode for you.

      The default password length is 20 characters: numbers (0-9), uppercase, and lowercase letters (A – Z and a – z).

      To set the length of the passcode DigiCert​​®​​ IoT Trust Manager creates, in the Passcode length (optional) field, enter the length for the passcode, for example, 40.

      • Minimum length 20 characters

      • Maximum length 64 characters

    2. I will provide it

      You provide the passcode.

      In the Passcode field, enter the passcode.

      Passcode requirements:

      • Use numbers (0-9) and uppercase and lowercase letters (A – Z and a – z)

      • Minimum length 20 characters

      • Maximum length 64 characters

  6. Control enrollment passcode usage (optional)

    1. Define how many times the passcode can be used to request certificates

      In the Limit of usage (optional) field, enter the number of times the passcode can be used, for example, 10.

    2. Define when the passcode can be used

      1. To set the start date the passcode can be used, in the Valid from (optional) field, select the calendar icon.

        If you don't want to set a beginning date, leave the Valid from field blank.

      2. To set the end date the passcode can be used, in the Valid to (optional) field, select the calendar icon.

        If you don't want to set the ending date, leave the Valid to field blank.

  7. Add registered fields and values (optional)

    1. Under Registered values (optional), select Add registered field to add registered field values.

    2. In the Field dropdown, select the field you want to define the value for.

    3. In the Value field, enter the value for the field.

  8. When ready, select Create.

  9. DigiCert​​®​​ IoT Trust Manager generated passcode only

    1. On the Create passcode page, copy the unique passcode DigiCert​​®​​ IoT Trust Manager generated for you and store it in a secure location.

    2. The passcode is shown only once, do not leave this page until you have copied the passcode and stored it in a secure location.

    3. When ready, select I understand I will not see this again.
