Create certificate automation profiles

Create certificate profiles in DigiCert​​®​​ Trust Lifecycle Manager to define issuance options for certificates under automated lifecycle management:

  • Select from different certificate templates to create profiles for different issuing certificate authorities (CAs) including DigiCert® CA Manager, CertCentral, Let's Encrypt, Microsoft, or AWS Private CA.

    • The base certificate template you select must list certificate automation in the Use cases column.

    • Available certificate options depend on the issuing CA and whether it's for private or public trust.

  • You can always get private certificates from issuing CAs in DigiCert® CA Manager. To get certificates from other issuing CAs, add a connector before creating the certificate profile:

  • Select the correct Enrollment method in the certificate profile based on how and where to install the certificates:

    • DigiCert agent to install certificates onto web server systems.

    • DigiCert sensor to install certificates onto network appliances or cloud services.

    • The above enrollment methods are for DigiCert​​®​​ Trust Lifecycle Manager's managed automation solution. To use a third-party ACME client like Certbot, select the 3rd-party ACME client enrollment method instead.
