KeyLocker signatures

A DigiCert​​®​​ KeyLocker subscription includes a package of 1,000 signatures assigned to a single Code Signing certificate using the KeyLocker provisioning method. Once assigned, signatures cannot be transferred or reassigned to another certificate.

DigiCert​​®​​ Software Trust Manager will notify you via email when your Code Signing certificate is running low on KeyLocker signatures. To avoid any disruption, you can purchase additional signatures directly in CertCentral, either to replenish a low volume or to prepare for future needs.

  • Out of the 1000 allotted signatures, an email is sent when:

    • 80% of signatures have been used / 200 signatures remain

    • 90% of signatures have been used / 100 signatures remain

    • 100% of signatures have been used / 0 signatures remain

  • Based on the above thresholds, an email is sent to:

    • All DigiCert​​®​​ KeyLocker admins on the account

    • All DigiCert​​®​​ KeyLocker signers mapped to the certificate where units were added

When your subscription term renews, each DigiCert​​®​​ KeyLocker order in your subscription automatically receives 1000 new signatures. Unused signatures from the previous term are invalid and can no longer be used.
