Create a device
Note
Before creating a device, you need at least one device profile. See Device profiles.
In DigiCert ONE®, in the Manager menu (top right), select DigiCert® IoT Trust Manager.
In the DigiCert® IoT Trust Manager menu, go to Devices > Device management.
On the Device management page, select Create device.
On the Create new device page, do the following tasks:
Enter the Device Identifier
The device identifier is how you identify the device on the Device management page.
Assign the device to a division
In the Division dropdown, select the division to assign the device to.
Select the device profile
In the Device profile dropdown, select the device profile to use for the device.
Under API access, update which device-centric API endpoints this device needs permissions to access. Changes to the endpoint selections override the device profile endpoint selections for this device only.
These settings allow this device to authenticate to the API endpoint and perform the corresponding action. This device can authenticate to the API using certificates associated with their device record as valid credentials.
These permissions do not change any other portal or API behaviors or workflows. For example, a user renewing a certificate through the portal is not affected by these settings.
View device details
Allows the device to see its details.
Update device details
Allows the device to update its details when needed.
Renew certificate
Allows the device to renew its certificate. Renewing a certificate allows you to use the same license instead of a new one.
Revoke certificate
Allows the device to revoke its certificate.
If fields were added to the device profile, you should leave them blank. Any information provided now will be overridden by the information provided in the certificate request for the device.
When you are ready, select Create.
The device's record is ready to go. When you start issuing certificates for the device, the record will be updated.
