Revoke certificates

Revoke a certificate that is no longer needed, has been compromised, or needs to be replaced. Revoking a certificate makes it permanently invalid and cannot be undone.

Notice

A revoked certificate is invalid and cannot be restored, reissued, or duplicated. A revoked certificate loses any remaining renewal time. Websites using a revoked certificate may display trust warnings to visitors. Revoking a certificate in a CertCentral Subscription account does not automatically mark the consumed domain as available.

DigiCert supports two revocation options:

  • Revoke all certificates on the order: Revokes the entire order once all certificates on the order are revoked. Use this option when the order is no longer needed.

  • Revoke a single certificate on the order: Revokes one certificate while keeping the order active. Use this option when you need to replace a specific reissued or duplicate certificate while continuing to use the order.
