Add or replace organization contacts
Manage organization-level contacts in CertCentral. Each organization has two contact types: an organization contact, required for validation, and an optional technical contact. Contacts receive certificate lifecycle notifications including order status updates, domain status updates, and renewal reminders. DigiCert recommends assigning a distribution list rather than an individual email address to ensure notifications are never missed due to staff changes.
Before you begin
Note the following when replacing organization or technical contacts:
The new contact replaces the one currently assigned to the organization.
The replacement is not retroactive and does not affect existing certificate orders, whether issued or pending.
Organization validation is not affected when replacing a contact. However, DigiCert may contact the organization directly to verify the new individual's name, email, phone number, and job title.
Add or replace the organization contact
In the CertCentral main menu,
For Enterprise and Partner accounts: go to Certificates > Organizations
For Subscription accounts: go to Validation > Organizations.
Select the organization name to open the organization details page.
On the organization details page, in the Organization Contacts section, next to Organization contact, select the replace contact icon.
In the Replace contact window, do one of the following:
Use an existing contact: Select Existing contact, choose the contact from the Contacts menu, add a job title and phone number if needed, then select Replace.
Add a new contact: Select New contact, enter the contact's first and last name, job title, email address, and phone number, then select Replace.
Select Save.
Notice
Organization contacts receive certificate lifecycle notifications including renewal reminders and expiration notices. DigiCert recommends assigning a distribution list as the organization contact rather than an individual email address to ensure notifications are never missed due to staff changes.
