Set the default second factor

Set the default second-factor authentication method for all users in your CertCentral account. The default applies to all users unless a user-specific requirement overrides it.

Before you begin

You must have Administrator access to configure authentication settings.

Notice

The default second factor applies to all users unless a user-specific requirement overrides it. Users configure the new method the next time they sign in after you save.

Configure the default method

  1. In the CertCentral main menu, go to Settings > Authentication Settings.

  2. Select the Default settings tab.

  3. Under Two-factor authentication settings, select a required authentication type:

    • One-time password (OTP)

    • Client certificate

  4. Select Save.

When the default method changes, users configure the new second factor the next time they sign in.
