Update the API secret for your UltraDNS to CertCentral connection

Update the API secret for your UltraDNS to CertCentral connection. To update your API secret, you need to reset the UltraDNS to CertCentral connection.

Resetting the connection suspends it and provides a new API secret that you need to enter in CertCentral to reactivate your connection. After you enter the new API secret in CertCentral, automatic domain validation continues as before.

Before you begin

To update the API secret, you need:

  • Permission to manage account connections in the UltraDNS Management Portal.

  • The Administrator role in CertCentral.

Step 1: Reset the connection in UltraDNS

  1. In your UltraDNS Management Portal, in the left menu, Accounts.

  2. On the Accounts page, select your account.

  3. On the Account Info tab, in the DigiCert CertCentral Connection section, confirm that the connection status is ACTIVE, and then select Reset.

  4. In the Enable DigiCert CertCentral Connection window, select Link.

You should see your Account ID and an API secret.

  5. Select Click to Copy to copy your Account ID and API secret. Then save them in a secure location.

    Warning

Important: UltraDNS shows the API secret one time. There’s no way to retrieve a lost API secret. If you lose it, you must generate a new one. Generating a new API secret invalidates the existing one, requiring you to update the API secret in CertCentral.

  6. Select OK, Saved.

The connection status changes to PENDING ACTIVATION.

For more information, see DigiCert CertCentral Connection in the UltraDNS documentation.

Step 2: Update the API secret in CertCentral

  1. In the CertCentral left menu, go to Automation > Integrate with UltraDNS.

  2. On the Automate domain validation with UltraDNS page, under Link account, in the API secret field, enter the new API secret.

  3. Select Link

Step 3: Verify the connection in your UltraDNS account

  1. In your UltraDNS Management Portal, in the left menu, go to Accounts.

  2. On the Accounts page, select your account.

  3. On the Account Info tab, in the DigiCert CertCentral Connection section, the connection status should be ACTIVE.

If the status isn’t ACTIVE, contact your account manager or DigiCert Support.
