Countries where DigiCert can issue an Extended Validation certificate

Industry standards require certificate authorities (CAs), such as DigiCert, to follow several important steps when validating an organization for an EV SSL/TLS certificate. As part of the

Extended Validation process, we must verify:

  • The person ordering the certificate for the organization is authorized to do so.

  • The organization is legally registered and active with the registration authority.

  • The organization has the right to use the domain name.

  • The organization's address and phone number are correct.

  • The organization is not on any government blocklists.

DigiCert validates customers in every industry (business, e-commerce, education, financial, government), in more than 180 countries worldwide.

Industry-standard EV SSL Certificate guidelines require DigiCert to issue certificates to organizations registered with an official registration agency in their country of jurisdiction. All corporations, associations, partnerships, government agencies, educational institutions, and sole proprietors can apply for EV validation with a valid business license, charter, or an equivalent document verifiable through a registration agency or directly through the registration agency's website.

Currently, we can validate organizations in the countries listed below for Extended Validation certificates. We are constantly improving our validation methods, so if your country does not appear in this list, contact DigiCert Support. We will do our best to give you the benefits of Extended Validation while following industry guidelines.
