Identify the provisioning method on a code signing order
Use these steps to find the provisioning method that was selected when a Code Signing or EV Code Signing certificate was ordered.
Notice
Code signing certificates issued before June 1, 2023 do not display a provisioning method on the Order details page. For background on the private key storage requirements introduced in November 2022, see New private key storage requirement for Standard Code Signing certificates.
Identify a provisioning method
In the CertCentral main menu,
For Enterprise and Partner accounts: go to Certificate > Orders.
For Subscription accounts: go to My digital trust products > Certificates.
On the Orders page, select the order number link for the code signing certificate.
On the Order details page, find the Provisioning method section
Review the provisioning method listed. The following methods may appear:
Provisioning method
Key storage
DigiCert-provided hardware token
DigiCert-shipped token
Use existing token
Customer-owned certified token
Install on Hardware security module (HSM)
Customer-owned certified HSM
DigiCert KeyLocker
DigiCert cloud HSM
If no provisioning method appears, the certificate was issued before June 1, 2023. See the notice.
