Refresh configuration
You can refresh your configuration to ensure that your credentials and configuration are correct. This helps you avoid disruptions while using client tools. Refreshing configuration updates:
Your credentials to reflect any changes in your environment or user permissions.
Resets any configuration to the default settings.
This article shows you two ways refresh your configuration, either manually or through automatic reminders to avoid authentication issues and keep your tools running smoothly.
Refreshing your configuration may help if:
You’re experiencing authentication issues.
Your user role changed, and your new permissions aren’t synced with your application programming interface (API) key.
Your environment variables were updated but aren’t reflected.
Your credentials has expired.
Depending on whether credentials are required, one of the following actions occur:
If credentials are required
A new API key and client authentication certificate is generated.
Both of these credentials are valid for two years.
These are automatically configured for use.
If credentials aren’t required
The tool updates environment variables and other configuration settings.
To refresh your tool configuration
Open DigiCert ONE Clients.
On the My client tools page, identify the tile of the client tool you want to update.
Select the menu icon (⋮) next to the client tool name > Refresh configuration.
If the tool requires credentials to work, you receive a confirmation pop-up to confirm that new credentials is generated and configured, select Refresh configuration.
Automatic reminders
30 days before your credentials expire, a pop-up saying Your credentials expire in 30 days appear. Select Refresh configuration to ensure uninterrupted service. If you select Remind me later, the pop-up reappears until you refresh your credentials.
Tip
You can uninstall the tool to stop receiving reminder notifications for tools you don't need.
