Track cryptographic remediation tasks

Create remediation tasks in connected ticketing systems directly from DigiCert® Quantum Central, and use the Tracking page to monitor their progress.

Continue managing the remediation work in the connected system. Quantum Central retrieves the current status and maps it to a standardized state. The connected system remains the source of truth, and Quantum Central does not change the task’s status.

Currently, Quantum Central supports Atlassian Jira for creating and tracking remediation tasks. Support for more integrations, like ServiceNow and GitHub, is planned for future releases.

How task tracking works

While reviewing your cryptographic posture, you can create remediation tasks for:

  • An asset in your Inventory, such as a certificate, key, endpoint, or application.

  • A policy Violation associated with an asset.

Quantum Central creates the task in the connected system and associates it with the affected asset. A task created from a policy violation is also linked to that violation.

Only tasks created in Quantum Central appear on the Tracking page. Tickets created directly in the connected system do not appear here.

Before you can create and track remediation tasks, connect Quantum Central to a supported ticketing system. For related instructions, see Set up Quantum Central integrations.

Review remediation tasks

From the Quantum Central menu, select Tracking. The tracking information is organized as follows:

  • At the top, view when task information was last synced and the number of connected sources.

Quantum Central automatically syncs task information when you sign in if it has not been synced within the previous 24 hours. To retrieve the latest information at any time, select Sync.

  • Below the sync information, summary cards show the number of tasks that are Open, In Progress, Done, or Unmapped.

  • At the bottom, the task list shows each task’s associated asset, state, assignee, and last-updated time. Use the source, search, and filtering controls to find specific tasks. Select a task to view more information or open it in the connected system.

Review task details

Open a task to review details from Quantum Central and the connected system, including:

  • The ticket identifier and title.

  • The tracking state and corresponding status in the connected system.

  • The assignee and other source-specific information.

  • The affected asset.

  • The linked violation, if the task was created from a violation.

  • Read-only comments from the connected system.

  • The history of changes to the task’s tracking state.

Use task actions

Depending on how the task was created, its action menu can provide options to:

  • View the task details.

  • Open the task in the connected system.

  • Re-check the associated asset (for violations).

  • View the linked violation.

  • View the asset in Inventory.

Map ticket statuses

Quantum Central maps ticket statuses from connected systems to Open, In Progress, Done, or Cancelled. Tickets with statuses that have not been mapped appear as Unmapped.

To review or update the mappings:

  1. On the Tracking page, select Status mapping.

  2. Review the suggested mappings and assign a tracking state to each ticket status.

  3. Select Save mapping or Apply suggestions to apply the mappings.

Changing a mapping affects how Quantum Central displays tasks but does not change their statuses in the connected system.

Manage integrations

To manage connected systems or integrations from the Tracking page:

  • Select Add integration to connect another supported ticketing system.

  • Select Integrations to review or manage existing connections.

  • Select Status mapping to manage ticket-status mappings.

To learn more about integrations, see Set up Quantum Central integrations.
