Credential setup for AIX

All DigiCert​​®​​ Software Trust Manager client tools, require your environment variables to be set.

Prerequisites

  • DigiCert ONE host

  • DigiCert ONE API key

  • Client authentication certificate path

  • Client authentication certificate password

Credential setup methods for AIX

Select one of the following methods to configure your environment variables for SMCTL.

Which credentials does the client tools prioritize?

The client tools look for and use your credentials in the following order:

  1. Check if session-based or persistent environment variables have been provided.

    If the API key and client authentication password isn't found, then:

  2. Check the properties file was set up.

    If the properties file isn't found, then:

  3. Check if credentials can be found in Linux Pass.

Note

If the credentials are available in multiple locations, then the priority is always given to the environment variables. Afterwards, the priority is given to the properties file, and then finally to the Linux Pass.

Refer to the log files to identify where the client tools picked up the credentials for each execution.
