Migrate to CertCentral
Annual plans
As of February 24, 2026, DigiCert TLS/SSL certificate plans are one year by default. Learn more about DigiCert annual plans.
Important
As of February 24, 2026, all renewed or reissued public TLS/SSL certificates have a maximum validity of 199 days. Account for shorter certificate lifecycles when planning migration timing. Certificates issued before this date on your previous platform remain valid until their original expiration.
CertCentral supports modern certificate workflows that reduce manual effort and improve visibility across the certificate lifecycle. This topic highlights modernization opportunities available after completing migration.
Centralized certificate management
Modern certificate workflows in CertCentral provide:
Centralized visibility into certificate inventory across all teams and environments
Consistent enrollment and renewal processes replacing ad hoc or platform-specific approaches
Reduced reliance on manual tracking tools such as spreadsheets or shared calendars
Centralized management enables teams to manage certificates at scale without duplicating effort.
Automated certificate lifecycle tasks
CertCentral enables automation through:
REST APIs for programmatic certificate issuance, renewal, reissuance, and revocation
ACME protocol support for automated certificate management on supported servers and CI/CD systems
Renewal notifications and policy-based workflows to prevent expiration-related outages
Standardized certificate request forms to reduce manual input and errors
Notice
With certificates now capped at 199 days maximum validity, automation is strongly recommended. Manual renewal processes that were sustainable with 1-year or 2-year certificates become significantly more demanding at 199-day cycles. See Automate certificate lifecycle.
Governance and compliance improvements
Modern workflows support:
Role-based access and approvals aligned to job responsibilities
Policy enforcement during certificate requests to prevent non-compliant orders
Auditability of certificate actions through activity logs and reporting
These governance features align certificate management with organizational security and compliance requirements.
