VMCs for government marks
Verified Mark Certificates (VMCs) support two logo types: registered trademarks and government marks.
A government mark is a logo or image granted by law, regulation, or treaty. It allows holders of the mark to display their official seal or logo next to the emails they send, in the same way trademark holders display their trademarked logo.
To qualify for a VMC with a government mark, present the enabling legislation — the law or government record that grants the logo to the entity — instead of a trademark registration. DigiCert uses this document to verify the mark's legitimacy before issuing the certificate.
