Reset a user's one-time password method

Reset a user's one-time password (OTP) method when they lose access to their OTP app or need to configure a new OTP device. Use this procedure when the user can still sign in to CertCentral but cannot complete OTP verification.

Before you begin

You must have Administrator access to reset OTP methods.

Notice

Only administrators can reset a locked OTP method. Users who are locked out cannot reset their own OTP.

Reset the OTP method

  1. In the CertCentral main menu, go to Settings > Authentication Settings.

  2. Select the Two-factor authentication tab.

  3. Select One-time password (OTP) methods.

  4. Locate the user.

  5. Select Reset.

CertCentral sends the user an email with instructions to configure a new OTP method. The reset takes effect immediately. The user configures their new OTP method the next time they sign in.
