Save Apple credentials to Keychain

Use the following one of the following commands to save your credentials to Keychain.

The profile name you give your credentials in Keychain will be used in notarization commands.

Command

Notarization commands begin with:

smctl-mac-x64 notarization save --tool <notarytool or altool> --profile-name <profile name>

Nota

The inputs differ based on the type of Apple credentials and notarize tool you are using.

Flags

Describe scan commands support these flags:

Shortcut	Flag	Description
	--input string	Path to file.
	--profile-name string	Provide a profile name for your credentials in Keychain.
	--tool string	Provide the notarization tool name that should be used to save your credentials to Keychain Allowed tools: notarytool altool
-v	--verbose	Enable verbose logging for saving credentials.
-h	--help	Help for describing a scan.

Examples

The notarize commands depend on the type of Apple credentials and notarize tool you are using.

ejemplo 1. App-specific password (notarytool)

To save your Apple ID and app-specific password using notarytool:

smctl-mac-x64 notarization save --tool notarytool --profile-name <Keychain credentials profile name> --apple-id <Apple ID> --password <app-specific—password> --team-id <developer-team-id associated with Apple ID provided> -v

Command sample:

smctl-mac-x64 notarization save --tool notarytool --profile-name notarytool_user --apple-id john.doe@example.com --password 123456 --team-id a1f5g7rg -v

Command output:

This process stores your credentials securely in the Keychain. You reference these credentials later using a profile name.

Validating your credentials...
Success. Credentials validated.
Credentials saved to Keychain.
To use them, specify `--keychain-profile "notarytool_user" --keychain /Users/john.doe/Library/Keychains/login.keychain-db`

ejemplo 2. App Store Connect API (altool)

To save App Store Connect API keys file locally:

smctl-mac-x64 notarization save --tool notarytool --profile-name <Keychain credentials profile name> -v --key-path <App_Store_Connect_API_key> --key-id <key ID> --issuer <issuer ID>

Command sample:

smctl-mac-x64 notarization save --tool notarytool --profile-name notarytool_user_key -v --key-path /Users\/john.doe\/Documents\/testing\/example.key --key-id a76398f443 --issuer 5cbz03d00-8ac1-4fdc-bb0a-f2167dc01f03

Command output:

This process stores your credentials securely in the Keychain. You reference these credentials later using a profile name.

smctl-mac-x64 notarization save --tool altool --profile-name altool_user --apple-id john.doe@example.com --password oth-tzzo-urjg-xnaz -v

Command output:

 Stored the password in the keychain item 'altool_user'.
