Deactivate organizations in your CertCentral account

Learn how to deactivate organizations in your CertCentral.

Before you begin

Only CertCentral administrators can deactivate organizations in your account.

Deactivating an organization:

  • Deactivates all domains associated with the organization.

  • Leaves the organization and its associated domains in your account.

  • Blocks certificate issuance for the organization and associated domains until you reactivate them.

  • Does not affect completed organization and domain validation checks for the organization and domains.

Existing organization and domain validations remain valid until they expire.

You cannot deactivate an organization included on a pending certificate request or order.

To deactivate an organization on pending requests or orders:

  • Reject or edit pending requests and select a different organization.

  • Cancel pending orders.

Current certificates that include a deactivated organization and associated domains:

  • Remain valid until they expire or are revoked.

  • Cannot be reissued or duplicated.

To get a new certificate for deactivated organizations and domains, you must reactivate them.
