Approve or reject a certificate revocation request
Review and approve or reject pending certificate revocation requests as an administrator. Once approved, DigiCert revokes the certificate immediately and the action cannot be undone.
Before you begin
You must have Administrator access to approve or reject revocation requests.
Confirm the revocation request is legitimate before approving. Revocation is permanent and cannot be reversed.
Review and approve a revocation request
For Enterprise, Partner, and Legacy accounts:
In the CertCentral menu, go to Certificates > Requests.
On the Requests page, in the Status dropdown, select Pending.
In the Type dropdown, select Revoke.
Select Go to display pending revocation requests.
In the Order number column, select the order number of the certificate to revoke.
In the Order details pane, review the revocation request details and reason.
Select Approve.
In the Approve request window, confirm that you want to revoke the certificate.
Select Approve to complete the revocation.
For Subscription accounts:
In the CertCentral menu, go to My Digital Trust Products > Requests.
On the Requests page, in the Status dropdown, select Pending.
In the Type dropdown, select Revoke.
Select Go to display pending revocation requests.
In the Order number column, select the order number of the certificate to revoke.
In the Order details pane, review the revocation request details and reason.
Select Approve.
In the Approve request window, confirm that you want to revoke the certificate.
Select Approve to complete the revocation.
DigiCert revokes the certificate immediately after approval.
Reject a revocation request
Follow steps 1 through 6 above.
Select Reject.
Enter a reason for rejection.
Select Reject to confirm.
The certificate remains active. The requester is notified that the revocation request was rejected.
Notice
A revoked certificate is invalid and cannot be restored. Websites using a revoked certificate may display trust warnings to visitors. Confirm all replacement certificates are installed before approving a revocation request.
