Create business units

To better organize your digital trust assets, we recommend creating your own custom business units to segment your organization’s certificate issuance and management.

Create a business unit

  1. From the menu, select Account > Business units > Create.

  2. Enter a name for the business unit.

  3. Allocate seats for the business unit. If you do not allocate a particular seat type you cannot create certificate profiles for that seat type for this business unit.

    Note

    If your account is new, you first need to de-allocate seats from the default business unit before allocating them to your own custom business units. You can always edit a business unit later to increase/decrease the seat allocations for it.

  4. Select Create.

    Run out of seats? Contact your DigiCert account manager.

Next, create a certificate profile so users and entities can start enrolling certificates in your new business unit.
