EV certificate countries
Industry standards require certificate authorities (CAs) to follow several verification steps when validating an organization for an EV TLS/SSL certificate. As part of the Extended Validation process, DigiCert verifies:
The person ordering the certificate is authorized to do so on behalf of the organization
The organization is legally registered and active with the relevant registration authority
The organization has the right to use the domain name
The organization's address and phone number are correct
The organization is not on any government blocklists
DigiCert validates organizations across all major industries — including business, e-commerce, education, financial services, and government — in more than 180 countries worldwide.
Industry-standard EV guidelines require DigiCert to issue certificates to organizations registered with an official registration agency in their country of jurisdiction. Corporations, associations, partnerships, government agencies, educational institutions, and sole proprietors can apply for EV validation with a valid business license, charter, or equivalent document verifiable through a registration agency or its website.
