Provisioning steps
Device provisioning includes several key steps to ensure each device is fully prepared for secure operation and management.
Step | Description |

Authentication | The device authenticates with Device Trust Manager Rendezvous using its bootstrap credential. This establishes a secure connection and verifies the device’s identity. |
Software deployment | During provisioning, the device may receive and install necessary software updates or configurations to make sure it has the latest settings, firmware, or applications. |
Issue certificates | The device may obtain operational certificates to enable secure, ongoing communication. While the bootstrap certificate manages initial authentication, an operational certificate enables short-term secure interactions with Device Trust Manager and other services. |
