Review OV organization validation expiration dates with a reduced 397 day validity
Currently, you can reuse OV—organization validations for 825 days. Starting February 24, 2026, DigiCert will shorten your OV—organization validation reuse period to 397 days to align with industry changes. This change is retroactive and affects organizations validated for OV—organization validation before and beginning February 24, 2026.

Before you begin
On the Organization details page in CertCentral, we added a second OV—organization validation expiration date to comply with Ballot SC-81 requirements for a 397-day OV organization reuse period. This second expiration date allows you to compare the original and new expiration dates and plan for OV—organization revalidation, per the changes coming February 24, 2026.
For organizations validated for OV organization validation on or before January 23, 2025, the OV organization validations will expire immediately on February 24, 2026.
Note: Your OV organization validation expiration dates may vary. Because of the move to the 397-day reuse period, the OV organization validations will expire before or on February 24, 2026.
For organizations validated for OV organization validation on and after January 24, 2025, the OV organization validations will remain valid as of February 24, 2026. However, it will expire earlier than the original 825-day period.
Review your organization’s validated for OV organization validation
In CertCentral, in the left menu, go to Certificates > Organizations.
On the Organizations page, in the Validated for column, select an organization name validated for OV.
On the Organization’s details page, under Submit for organization validation, find OV—Normal Organization Validation.
Review its Expires on {{date}} per SC-081. If you rely on immediate certificate issuance and the OV—Normal Organization Validation is set to expire before, on, or soon after February 24, 2026, you should revalidate it before February 24, 2026.
