Domain validation reuse for OV and EV certificates

As of February 24, 2026, the domain validation reuse period is limited to 199 days. Learn more about Domain validation requirements and reuse periods.
OV and EV certificates support domain validation reuse within the allowed reuse period. When a domain is already validated and within the reuse period, DigiCert does not require additional validation and the certificate request proceeds without interruption.
When revalidation is required
Complete revalidation when:
The 199-day validation reuse period has expired
A new domain is added to the certificate order
Validation was not completed before the random value expired
