Legacy agent scripts

On August 13, 2025, DigiCert released agent software version 3.1.2 with support for centralized management of agent scripts. The new system allows you to upload a script directly into the DigiCert® Trust Lifecycle Manager web console and automatically distributes the script to all the agents where it needs to run.

Prior to this release, agent scripts had to be added and maintained locally within each agent's user-scripts directory. This page describes how to continue using these legacy agent scripts, and how to transition to the new management system.

Waarschuwing

You cannot add any new scripts to your agents unless they are running at least software version 3.1.2 . For details, see Transition to the new script management system.

Working with legacy scripts

If you have legacy scripts assigned to agents running a software version earlier than 3.1.2:

  • The scripts still run as part of any automation jobs on the agents where they're assigned.

  • To update a legacy script, edit the script file in the local user-scripts directory for each DigiCert agent. You must update the script file separately for each agent where it's assigned.

  • To view legacy scripts in Trust Lifecycle Manager, go to the Discovery & automation tools > Scripts > DigiCert agents page. For legacy scripts, the Status column shows "".

  • The following management actions are available for legacy scripts on the Discovery & automation tools > Scripts > DigiCert agents page:

Transition to the new script management system

To enhance workflow efficiency, DigiCert recommends upgrading your agents and transitioning to the latest script management system. With the new system, you no longer need to add and maintain scripts on each individual agent:

  • Add new scripts by uploading into the Trust Lifecycle Manager web console. The scripts get automatically distributed to all the applicable agents.

  • Update a script by uploading the new version in Trust Lifecycle Manager. The new version gets automatically distributed to all the applicable agents.

To transition your legacy scripts to the new script management system:

  1. Add new listings for the scripts on the Discovery & automation tools > Scripts > DigiCert agents page. For details, see Add a script.

  2. Upgrade your agents to the latest software version (at least 3.1.2). For details, see Software updates.

  3. Configure each agent to assign it the new version of the script that you added in step 1. For details, see Assign scripts to an agent.
