Notifications

Opmerking

This feature is available from version 1.2.0.

DigiCert® Trust Assistant sends notifications from the background process when:

  • An operation succeeds or fails.

  • Attention is required.

To view notifications, click the bell icon at the top of the dashboard.

Notifications are also sent to the operating system's notification center unless disabled at the application level. Refer to your operating system's documentation for configuration details.

Notification types

There are three types of notifications:

  • Information: This type of notification informs you of actions completed by DigiCert Trust Assistant. For example, if a certificate issuance is successfully completed in the background, you will receive this type of notification in the Notification pane.

  • Action Required: This notification type alerts you when action is required. It will include an Action link that you can click to trigger the necessary action. For example, if a newer version of the DigiCert Trust Assistant provider is available, you will receive a notification with an Upgrade Required Action link. Clicking this link will initiate the upgrade process.

  • Error: This notification type is sent when an error is detected during background operations. It will provide details on what happened, during which process, and why. Most errors are typically caused by network issues, so ensure your connection to the backend server is stable. If the issue persists, consult your administrator for assistance.

Unread Message Indicators

If there are any unread notifications, the DigiCert Trust Assistant icon will display a red dot in the following locations:

  • Mac: The icon in the menu bar will show a red dot. Additionally, the dock icon will display the number of unread notifications.

  • Windows: The icon in the task tray will show a red dot.

The bell icon on the Dashboard will also display a red dot when there are unread notifications. After all the notifications are marked as read, the red dot disappears from the icons.
