Manage organization details and contacts

Keep organization details and contacts current in CertCentral. DigiCert uses this information during certificate validation and to communicate with your organization.

Update organization details

Updating an organization's legal name, address, or contact information cancels all current organization validation including OV and EV validation. As a best practice, add a new organization rather than editing an existing one when changing the legal name or assumed name, or when you do not want to cancel current validation. See Create an organization.

  1. In the CertCentral main menu,

    • For Enterprise, Partner, and Legacy accounts: go to Certificates > Organizations.

    • For Subscription accounts: go to Validation > Organizations.

  2. In the Name column, select the organization.

  3. On the organization details page, select Edit Organization.

  4. Update the required details.

  5. Save your changes.

Replace the organization contact

You can assign only one organization contact to an organization. Replacing the contact does not affect existing certificate orders, issued or pending.

  1. In the CertCentral main menu,

    • For Enterprise, Partner, and Legacy accounts: go to Certificates > Organizations.

    • For Subscription accounts: go to Validation > Organizations.

  2. In the Name column, select the organization.

  3. On the organization details page, in the Organization Contacts section, select the replace icon next to Organization contact.

  4. In the Replace contact window, select one of the following:

    • Existing contact: select the contact from the Contacts menu. Add a job title and phone number if missing.

    • New contact: enter the contact's first and last name, job title, email address, and phone number.

  5. Select Replace.

Troubleshoot organization setup issues

If certificate requests are delayed due to organization verification:

  • Confirm organization information is accurate and matches official registration records.

  • Confirm that verification contact email addresses are correct and monitored.

  • Respond promptly to verification requests from DigiCert.

  • Contact DigiCert Support for assistance.
