Know your environment

You can set up DigiCert® Private CA in two ways:

  • DigiCert-hosted: Hosted and managed for you by DigiCert. Typically bundled with DigiCert ONE.

  • Self-hosted: Hosted and managed by you on your premises or in your own cloud. Can be connected to DigiCert ONE for certificate lifecycle management capabilities.

Sign in

How you sign in to DigiCert Private CA depends on whether your environment is DigiCert-hosted or self-hosted.

Hosted by DigiCert:

Navigate to DigiCert Private CA from your DigiCert ONE account.

  1. Sign in to DigiCert ONE.

  2. In DigiCert ONE, open the managers managericon.png menu, and select CA.

Hosted by you:

Sign in to DigiCert Private CA by navigating to where you’ve installed it. For example: https://<your domain>/

Both DigiCert-hosted and self-hosted environments have almost the same features and capabilities.

Some capabilities which are managed by your DigiCert representative might not be present in the DigiCert-hosted environment, for example user management. Some capabilities that work with DigiCert ONE and Trust Lifecycle Manager might not be available in your self-hosted environments, for example accounts management.
