Base templates
The base template is where the configuration of a certificate starts in DigiCert® Trust Lifecycle Manager. Base templates are used to create certificate profiles, which in turn are used to issue certificates.
Each base template corresponds to a general certificate type and set of available options, including the supported certificate properties and enrollment methods. It is important to select the right base template as the starting point when creating a certificate profile.
Important
If your Trust Lifecycle Manager account uses the legacy licensing model (with different seat types), each base template has a corresponding seat type. You must have available seats of that type in your account, otherwise the base template is disabled and you can't create certificate profiles from it. To learn more, see Legacy seat types.
View base templates
To view the available base templates in your account:
From the Trust Lifecycle Manager menu, go to Policies > Base templates.
(Optional) Use the sort and filter options as needed to find a specific base template:
Select the arrow next to the Template name header to sort the records in ascending or descending alphabetical order.
To filter the list of records, select Filter above the table or open the actions menu (⋮) next to a column title and select Column Filter.
To add or remove columns, select the Add Column icon on the top-right. Drag and drop columns to reorder them.
