PKIoverheid products

DigiCert offers three types of PKIoverheid products: signing certificates, authentication and encryption certificates, and TLS certificates.

PKIoverheid is the Dutch government's Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) system. It is a secure framework that helps organizations and individuals safely exchange information online, ensuring privacy and trust. The PKIoverheid products are only available in DigiCert's European instance of CertCentral, where we store your data in our Europe data centers.

Privacy policy and data collection

  • Privacy policy: The common name, SANs, individual name, organization name, and the city/local, state/province, and country where the person or organization is located will be included in the certificate. All other information provided in the request is used to process your request. All personal details are handled in accordance with data protection laws.

  • Data collection: The applicant confirms that the personal details provided in this application are provided with the permission of the person concerned and that that person is aware of his/her rights in respect of these details.

1. PKIoverheid TLS certificates

Description

PKIo Private Services Server

  • A PKIoverheid EU non-qualified certificate issued to an organisation for server authentication and encryption.

  • Used to encrypt website traffic and identify who controls the domain.

  • DigiCert issues PKIo Private Services Server certificates to customers primarily to connect to Digipoort, a digital post office where messages and information are received, checked, and sent to the relevant recipients.

PKIo Personal Organisation - Signing

  • A PKIoverheid EU Qualified certificate issued to a natural person for e-signing that includes an organisation name in the subject of the certificate.

  • Legal signing with a European Trusted and Adobe Approved certificate by a natural person on behalf of a legal entity (organisation) of files, such as pdf, docx, xml, and eml.

PKIo Professional – Signing

  • A PKIoverheid EU Qualified certificate issued to a natural person for e-signing that includes an EU regulated profession title and organisation name in the subject of the certificate.

  • Legal signing with a European Trusted and Adobe Approved certificate by a natural person in his/her capacity of a professional of files, , such as pdf, docx, xml, and eml.

PKIo Citizen – Signing

  • A PKIoverheid EU Qualified certificate issued to a natural person for e-signing.

  • Legal signing with a European Trusted and Adobe Approved certificate by a natural person of files, such as pdf, docx, xml, and eml.

PKIo Qualified eSeal

  • PKIoverheid EU Qualified certificate issued to a Dutch organisation for e-signing.

  • Legal signing with a European Trusted and Adobe Approved certificate on behalf of a legal entity (organisation) of files, such as pdf, docx, xml, and eml.

PKIo Private Person - Signing

  • A PKIoverheid EU Qualified certificate issued to a natural person for e-signing.

  • Legal signing with a European Trusted and Adobe Approved certificate by a natural person of files, such as pdf, docx, xml, and eml.

PKIo Private Professional - Signing

  • A PKIoverheid EU Qualified certificate issued to a natural person for e-signing that includes an EU regulated profession title and an organisation name in the subject of the certificate.

  • Legal signing with a European Trusted and Adobe Approved certificate by a natural person in his/her capacity of a professional of files, , such as pdf, docx, xml, and eml.

  • A PKIoverheid EU non-qualified certificate issued to a natural person for authentication or encryption that includes an organisation name in the subject of the certificate.

  • Prove identity (authentication)—Gain access to applications with a certificate on behalf of a legal entity (organisation).

  • Protect data (encryption)—Makes it possible to decrypt files with the private key of a certificate when the files are encrypted with the public key of the same certificate on behalf of a legal entity (organisation).

PKIo Professional – Authentication/Encryption

  • A PKIoverheid EU non-qualified certificate issued to a natural person for authentication or encryption that includes an EU regulated profession title and organisation name in the subject of the certificate.

  • Prove identity (authentication)—Gain access to applications with a certificate.

  • Protect data (encryption)—Makes it possible to decrypt files with the private key of a certificate when the files are encrypted with the public key of the same certificate.

  • Protect data (encryption)—Makes it possible to decrypt files with the private key of a certificate when the files are encrypted with the public key of the same certificate on behalf of a legal entity (organisation).
