Cancel a pending certificate and client certificate order
Cancel a pending certificate order before DigiCert issues the certificate.
Before you begin
You can only cancel pending certificate orders. Once DigiCert issues the certificate, you must revoke the certificate if it is no longer needed.
Canceling an order cannot be undone. Canceling removes the request from the system permanently.
For client certificate orders with an approval step configured, the approver must reject the certificate request before the order can be canceled. A certificate order is not placed until the approver approves the request.
For client certificate reissues, you can only cancel the reissue before the recipient generates the certificate. Once generated, you can only revoke it.

Client certificate orders
Client certificate orders have two pending states that can be canceled:
Pending: the order includes a CSR and is waiting for the recipient to validate their email address.
Emailed to Recipient: the order does not include a CSR and is waiting for the recipient to use the generation link in the issuance email to generate and install their certificate.
To cancel a client certificate order in either state, filter the Orders list by Pending or Emailed to Recipient status and follow the steps above.
Once a client certificate is issued, it cannot be canceled. See Revoke a client certificate.
