Understand the Releases table

When you create a release, an entry will be created in the Releases table in Device Trust Manager > Software updates > Releases.

The following table describes the components of the Releases table:

Column	Description
Releases	This column displays the alias of the release.
Release version	This column displays the user-generated version number of the release.
Artifacts	This column displays the associated artifacts that deployed the release.
Status	This column displays the current status of the release, which can be: Available
Date created	This column displays the date and time that the release was created.

To create a release, you must have the following assets available:

Division
A division is used to organize and manage certificate deployments to specific IoT devices.
A division provides the ability to create sub-accounts within an account and to manage user access control.
While all users have a default division, you may want to create a new division to manage your IoT devices and certificates.
Artifact
- An artifact is a binary package that is used to deploy releases to devices.
  An artifact contains software (or firmware), metadata, and installation scripts, all of which are necessary for a deployment.
  Additionally:
  An artifact ensures that updates are executed in a controlled, reliable manner across multiple devices.
  Multiple artifacts can be added to a single release.
  To launch a newly created artifact, you must first create a release, and then create a deployment.
