Licensing and plans

DigiCert® Device Trust Manager offers two subscription plans designed to meet different security and device management needs. Select the plan that best fits your requirements and sign up today.

Essentials plan

The Essentials plan is for customers who need single-use certificates for their devices. It works well when a device only needs one certificate for its identity, such as:

  • Private certificates

  • CSA Matter DAC certificates

  • ISO 15118 certificates

  • C2PA certificates

This plan issues certificates without creating any device records.

  • Each certificate you issue uses one Essentials license.

  • When you renew a certificate, it uses another license.

  • You can find all certificates issued under this plan under Certificate management > Certificates.

The subscription is yearly. For example, if you buy 10,000 Essentials licenses, you can issue up to 10,000 certificates each year during the agreement. You can use them for the same devices every year or for different devices.

Advanced plan

The Advanced plan is for customers who need full device management. It supports OTA updates, multiple certificates per device, and automated certificate workflows. It’s a good choice when devices must meet security and regulatory requirements, including FDA, EU MDR, EU CRA, and so on.

  • Each device you register uses one Advanced device license

  • You can issue multiple certificates to each device at no extra cost

  • You can find all registered devices under Device management > Devices

The subscription is yearly and based on the number of devices you manage. For example, if you have 10,000 devices, you buy 10,000 Advanced licenses. You’re billed each year for that same number unless you change it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Device Trust Manager enforce hard limits on licenses? For example, if I buy 10,000 Essentials licenses, can I issue more than 10,000 certificates if needed?

Device Trust Manager does not enforce license limits for Essentials or Advanced plans. You can go over your purchased amount if you need to. If you do exceed your license count, you will be billed for the extra usage at the end of the year.
