Prepare to connect an AI client

Before you connect an AI client to the DigiCert® Private CA MCP server, make sure that you have the required DigiCert ONE access and connection information.

Service User access

To connect an AI client to the Private CA MCP server, use the Service User Token ID generated for a DigiCert ONE Service User.

The AI client must provide that token in the x-api-key header when it connects to the MCP server.

A DigiCert ONE administrator must assign the Service User to:

  • DigiCert Private CA

  • The accounts it needs to access

  • The appropriate roles and permissions

These assignments determine which Private CA information the MCP server can retrieve. For example, the AI client cannot retrieve information from an account that the Service User cannot access.
