Authorized representative approval delegation
For Qualified Website Authentication Certificates (QWAC) and QWAC PSD2
In CertCentral Europe, DigiCert has created an automated authorized representative delegation process for QWAC and QWAC PSD2 certificates. This delegated approval streamlines certificate issuance by eliminating the need for repeated individual QWAC and QWAC PSD2 order approvals.
You can now request multiple QWAC and QWAC PSD2 certificates in CertCentral Europe or via the CertCentral Services API (application programming interface) while maintaining compliance with authorization requirements. These certificates are immediately issued when the required validation and confirmation of the payment service provider roles (for QWAC PSD2) have been finished.
How does the delegation process work?
DigiCert validates the authorized representative to approve QWAC and QWAC PSD2 certificates for your organization. Then, from a user or service user’s details page in CertCentral Europe, you can submit a request for the authorized representative to delegate their approval authorization to a CertCentral administrator, manager, or service user.
CertCentral sends the authorized representative the "Request to delegate authority for approving EU TLS orders" email so they can perform a one-time approval delegation. From the user or service user’s details page, you can track the request progress: pending, approved, or rejected.
If approved, CertCentral automatically applies the representative’s approval authorization to all QWAC and QWAC PSD2 orders submitted by the associated CertCentral user or service user as long as they add that authorized representative to the QWAC or QWAC PSD2 order.
Items to note about using the delegation process
Authorized Representatives can delegate their authority to CertCentral Administrators, Managers, and Service Users. They can't delegate their authority tp Finance Managers, Standard Users, and Limited Users.
A service user has API-only access to your CertCentral account. You must be an administrator to create service users. When creating a service user, you link the administrator's permissions to the key. Learn more about creating Service Users.
When ordering QWAC and QWAC PSD2 certificates, the delegated approver must include the authorized representative who delegated their approval authority to them in the order.
If they don't add them, the order doesn't receive automatic approval and goes through the regular authorized representative approval process.
