Deactivate organizations in CertCentral

Learn how to deactivate organizations in CertCentral.

Before you begin

To deactivate organizations from your account, you must be a CertCentral administrator.

Deactivating an organization:

  • Deactivates all domains assigned to the organization.

  • Leaves the organization and its associated domains in your account.

  • Blocks certificate issuance for the organization and associated domains until you reactivate them.

  • Doesn’t affect organization and domain validation checks for the organization and domains.

  • Existing organization and domain validations remain valid until they expire.

You can't deactivate an organization included on a pending certificate request or order.

To deactivate an organization on pending requests or orders:

  • Reject or update pending requests and select a different organization.

  • Cancel pending orders.

Current certificates that include a deactivated organization and associated domains:

  • Remain valid until they expire or are revoked.

  • Can't be reissued or duplicated.

To get a new certificate for deactivated organizations and domains, you must reactivate them.
